Fire alarm systems maintenance & installation
The commonly known standard for fire alarm systems would be the latest edition of BS5839. The standard, BS 5839-1:2017, covers the planning, design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of fire detection and fire alarm systems in and around commercial buildings.
We ensure that our expert engineers are trained in accordance with BS 5839 to enable your installed fire alarm system operates correctly and adheres to all current legislation.
There are, however, a large number of future British Standards, plus associated extensions and guidance notes all relating to fire alarm systems, which should be implemented as necessary. We can discuss and advise on the best solution for your property.
Each system can incorporate; heat detectors, smoke detectors, aspirating detectors, manual call points, control panels and sounders.
MSL Fire are BAFE Approved to Scheme SP203-1 for maintenance of fire detection and alarm systems
MSL Fire provide the following fire alarm systems:
- Analogue-addressable fire alarm systems: these provides specific details on individual fire detector locations
- Conventional systems : these provide information about areas or zones of a building.
- Wireless fire alarm systems : A wireless fire alarm system uses radio signals instead of cabling (unlike Coventional and Addressable). All devices report back to the main control panel.
HSSD fire detection
The high sensitive smoke detection system provides early warning of a potential fire outbreak by monitoring all stages of the fire, thus preventing the spread of fire. This is the most sensitive form of smoke detection on the market.
HSSD helps to ensure that business disruption and down time are avoided by detecting smoke at the earliest possible stage.
It's perfect for a range of complex environments, including server rooms, clean areas, and cold stores.
We work with you to design a system that works for your particular environment and is fully compliant with BS5839.
