DFPT/room integrity testing
To conduct integrity test and compute predicted extinguishant retention time(s) in accordance with the general requirements of ISO 14520, BS:EN 15004, BS 5306, NFPA 2001, NFPA 12A, BFPSA or equivalent.
Successful extinguishment of a fire by a gaseous extinguishing system is critically dependent upon the extinguishing concentration being maintained for a specified period after discharge. A retention time of ten minutes applies in most cases. Failure to do so may result in reignition and fire spread.
Integrity testing using door fan methodology provides a means of predicting the retention time without the need to release the extinguishing gas. It is a requirement of all relevant British, European and International Standards that integrity tests be conducted on initial installation and thereafter at annual intervals.
We work in accordance with the general requirements specified in the relevant parts of ISO 14520, EN 15004, BS 5306, NFPA 2001 and the BFPSA Code of Practice for Gaseous Extinguishing Systems. It is applicable to all extinguishing gases (e.g. Argonite, Inergen, FM200, CO2) and can be used for descending interface, mechanical mixing and extended discharge applications.
